Massively overrated really. Great performances but a completely unbelievable script and a lead character with zero redeeming features not well written enough to engender the sort of sympathy you feel for say Tony Soprano. Just didn't believe a minute of it which is a problem.

A tight, neat Irish private eye thriller with echoes of all those private eye movies of the late 60s and 70s with a subtle political bent and social commentary. Tells its tail in a compact 90 minutes and all the better for it. The denouement is clever and original as well. Recommended.

Ridiculous and completely implausible but fun.

Absolutely terrible but almost falls into the 'so bad it's good' category. The first couple of episodes are actually pretty good but it just gets increasingly ridiculous and implausible. The characters are either total idiots or reprehensible and often both. The plot makes no sense, the characters actions make no sense the whole thing makes no sense. The longer it goes on the more you think death was a preferable outcome for these kids than having to be raised by these families. Spectacularly awful but I couldn't stop watching it. Car crash TV.

A mixed bag to say the least. The battle scenes are jaw droppingly astonishingly brilliant. The rest of it reminded me a bit of Blackadder!

See it on the biggest screen possible.

There's a good film in there somewhere struggling to get out but the good performances often striking photography and a tense climax are all poorly served by a plot that introduces potentially interesting situations only to either not expand on them or simply drop them altogether which just amounts to a rather frustrating experience. A case of wasted potential. If you've got nothing better to do it's just about worth a watch however due to its atmosphere ans some very decent work from the cast.

Yes it's silly and definitely skews younger than something like Black Panther but I rather enjoyed this. Brisk for a modern movie at under two hours and quite a lot of unpretentious fun. It's no classic but is miles better than the similar in tone Aquaman for instance. Doesn't deserve the opprobrium it's getting.

Absolutely fascinating. Let's face it the song itself is as cheesey as hell ( or as The Boss with arch diplomacy puts it ' I thought it was a little broad') if insanely catchy but this incredible 80s time capsule is utterly compelling. The wonder is that all this incredible footage was sat on for so long. The highlight, Stevie Wonder helping Bob Dylan with how to sing his part by doing a spot on Bob Dylan impersonation. Highly recommended.
