Such a misguided reinterpretation or bastardization of Tolkien’s beautiful, poetic work. Laughable but also tormentingly bad.

Despite the impressive cast, very subpar acting. Cliché and unrealistic script. Obtuse reactions by the actors made it very difficult to suspend disbelief and buy in to this mess of a movie. When I see a movie like this, with actors who should know a bad script when they see it. I’m left to wonder how these projects get green lighted. Really bad. Btw seems to be a thing to just copy and paste other’s reviews; Google should monitor to make these reviews useful and relevant.

A bit sophisticated, nuanced and long running for the average moviegoer, but a well made, detailed, satisfying and lasting motion picture experience. Will be just as good if rediscovered 20 years from now.
