Terrible movie tbh. Are you sure there's nothing in the house that could break the chain? What about using the car, or wedging the chain in the door? Maybe you could even break the guy's finger to slip his hand off? If he's already deceased, he wouldn't feel it. Or perhaps you could maneuver the car differently, like putting it in drive as soon as you get in, as if you're planning to climb over two cars instead of driving straight ahead.
