***spoiler alert *** I love horror films! I literally watch horror movies everyday…lol!! I wanted to see this movie since the first time seeing the trailer...so I purchased my tickets for the first matinee show with my husband!! Expecting another Evil Dead hit boy was I wrong!!! I swear the best scenes were shown in the extended trailer, and I honestly was bored! The storyline seemed all over the place. From the beginning at the cabin, from the sister being a “groupie” lol, the mom and kids, and the extra people just added in to fill spaces it seems! The storyline just didn’t make sense to me. 2013 Evil Dead hit every aspect of a great horror film, it had a great storyline/vision, we connected with the characters and deadites, and it kept me entertained all the way through and the ending felt satisfying ! Evil Dead Rise ending left me mad and disappointed because if the deadites actually were decapitated fully then how on earth did the girl from the cabin become possessed???In 2013 version, once Mia destroyed the main evil with a chainsaw through the whole body cutting it in half, the evil ended? And the per the priest on the recording the only way to end it would be full on decapitation??? So how was evil still present..? Lol! I’m so confused but I guess we have to wait a few years to find out..smh!! Lol! On a positive note; I liked their take on the drawings in the “Book of the Dead” !!
