Beautiful imagery, beautiful music, excellent acting. But the story, the pacing, and the very broad openess to interpretation leaves a lot to be desired. It is NOT an action movie or a wild fantastical adventure. It is very slow, with many things going nowhere. I will say this however: it is not a movie you will forget, for better or for worse. For me it's for the better, but you bet I won't watch it again. I feel sorry for the English junior high and high school students who will have to watch this in class in the future and have to write essays on it, because I guarantee this will be one of THOSE movies.
