Lost 1 star for the horrible ending...... I binged watched girlfriends on Netflix and loved the show. Joan's character got a little neurotic for me and Lynn's character was a little of an airhead although she had reached some level of fame. Some of the moves she was making were off the wall. Maya was the only somewhat sane character who was consistent in how she handled herself. The round the way, down to earth mother, wife and friend was the one i wanted to relate to. Tony was self centered and ended her and Joan's relationship over what could be seen as a jealous move - did not speak well for her. They really need to do the fans a favor and wrap up the show - was a hot mess to end a great show in the middle of season 8 and leave us hanging.

OK -OK.... I've taken away 2 stars- Let me explain...... As an African American woman, I loved the show. It was very insightful and heartfelt storylines which were believable. The comedy was spot on and had me laughing for days. However, I'm so tired of NOT seeing folks who look like me represented in "excellent shows". Not just the one "Token" black cast member played by Karen Robin. If you look as Saturday Night Live, they have expanded their cast for inclusivity to look more like America. In all 6 seasons I think I only saw 3 black people. Karen Robin who played Ronnie Lee and two extras - the dance instructor for the Cabaret episode. And a female as an extra in the Singles week. It may not be popular opinion - but this is just mine... we have a long way to go.
