As an avid fan of Lee Childs Jack Reacher character, having read all his books, including the ones co-written with his brother, Andrew, I was a tad sceptical of how any TV depiction would get the characters sheer size and muscular bulk correct, especially after Tom Cruise was cast (for me) so wrongly to play Reacher in the film role. I was therefore very pleasantly surprised to find that casting was spot on with Alan Ritchson put in the role. He is exactly as your minds eye sees Reacher in how he fills a doorway! He and his excellent supporting cast play their roles well. Dialogue from Reacher is clipped, pertinent and often quietly witty or ironic, as per the book. Screenplay accuracy to the book was another concern but I needn’t have worried! Looking forward to viewing more from our avenging anti-hero!
