I have been a student of the Civil Rights era for decades, but this book illuminated so much I did not know. From the people of the struggle, their strategies and insights, to the atmosphere in which it took place, Mr. Kix offers a thoughtful, well researched and provocative examination of a significant moment in American history. Highly recommended.

For those who enjoy espionage fiction, this is a good one. All the things a reader looks for ( tradecraft, exotic location), but set apart by the complexities of the major characters; flawed, imperfect and credibly human. A solid, 4-star effort.

Eisler once again offers a compulsively readable book, with all the suspense and tradecraft that characterize his previous work. Yet this outing is particularly good in conveying the emotional lives of his characters, and the strange mix of ferocity and tenderness of which they're capable. Both exciting and moving. Highly recco.mended.
