Some movies are made for the purpose of entertainment and nothing more. This is one of them. Don't watch this movie with the intention of thinking of it critically, or worrying too much about it's messages or themes. It is a fun and lighthearted movie, perfect for if you've had a stressful day and just want to unwind. On the other hand, it DOES include some figures non-believers may be unfamiliar with and may make them want to investigate if these were real people. We meet Zechariah, Elizabeth, and King Herod. Zechariah doesn't say anything which is kind of amusing, but they don't really explain why, and people unfamilar with the birth of Jesus may wish to investigate. Story aside, the singing, dancing, and music is just great!

This movie was very cleverly made. The special effects are cool, the dialogue is witty, and the sets are perfect. The fact that the songs are original and by different artists is also great. In general, the movie is very funny. Aside from there being a couple of crude jokes, kids may have trouble understanding the sexism themes in this movie. It is more aimed at people who used to play with Barbies. Discussion points could be that as Barbie wonders what she was made for, we humans could ask that too.
