The Violet Eye

I think this movie is excellent if you are into eldritch-thriller movies. There are some moments where the plot could have been more tightly knitted; however, the acting, visuals, and overall dialogue felt so creepy which was the leading goal. The main problem, I think for most people who have seen this movie and found it confusing, was because the film didn't explain why the main character did certain things. If you aren't big into religions and mythology's symbolism/meanings of particular objects, etc then you wouldn't comprehend it to the max. Overall, I would rate this unique movie a 7.3 rating. Honestly, it was so unfortunate for the marketing to be the cause of the failed film, even if its message is beautiful. A lot of people in the past, not so sure if it's a present problem now, have asked Disney to do a movie about an overweight princess. This company did exactly that: They offered an idea of an overweight royal. Though this movie has become one of my comfort favorites, it does have some flaws. For example, at the very beginning of the movie, I would have preferred to add more scenes/story with the princess, father, and stepmother. That way, we could feel more attached to our main character and understand her relationships better. Still, overall the movie was pretty decent. I personally rate this movie 7/10. Also, I understand that this review is reasonably late. In my defense, I barely watched the movie recently, since it wasn't promoted like other films during 2019.
