Honestly, it was so unfortunate for the marketing to be the cause of the failed film, even if its message is beautiful. A lot of people in the past, not so sure if it's a present problem now, have asked Disney to do a movie about an overweight princess. This company did exactly that: They offered an idea of an overweight royal.
Though this movie has become one of my comfort favorites, it does have some flaws. For example, at the very beginning of the movie, I would have preferred to add more scenes/story with the princess, father, and stepmother. That way, we could feel more attached to our main character and understand her relationships better. Still, overall the movie was pretty decent.
I personally rate this movie 7/10. Also, I understand that this review is reasonably late. In my defense, I barely watched the movie recently, since it wasn't promoted like other films during 2019.
