I wanted to like this book so badly since it had great reviews on social media. I even bought a physical copy because I couldn’t get an e-reader version or borrow it from the library. Let me tell you, it was not worth it. The plot and relationships made absolutely no sense. I love a dark romance, but I could not get behind the relationship between Kaleb and Tiernan. This was not a book about CNC, it was just SA. Kaleb SAs Tiernan the moment she meets him, and she still enters a relationship with him 100+ pages later. He doesn’t understand the word “no”, and abuses her multiple times. Jake would’ve been a better choice, or even Noah (although he was clearly cast as the “nice guy” who wouldn’t get her). Even when you could clearly predict how the story would end, it made no sense. Even putting the plot aside and evaluating the book for what most readers are looking for, this book is not worth the read. Everyone is saying how steamy and spicy it is. I regret to inform the world that the book is tepid at best and incredibly mild. I’ve read much better fan fiction than this.
