If you've seen all of Nolan's great movies, like Interstellar, The Prestige, Memento, Tenet, and the Dark Knight trilogy, you shouldn't think that Oppenheimer will be like those movies.
This time, Nolan has given himself a challenge by making a biopic, which is a movie about real people and real events. Oppenheimer is a very different movie. It lasts three hours and has some monochrome scenarios.
A powerful story told as big as it can get. Cillian Murphy makes the most of his chance and gives an amazing performance of moral suffering. I also want to call out the great supporting performances from Robert Downey Jr. and Emily Blunt, which could have won Oscars, as well as the great cinematography and thunderous sound.
The film focuses on courtroom drama, deep thrilling conversations, and brilliant dialogues, with an outstanding background score. Even though I had some ideas about what the movie would be like, Cillian's great performance pulled me into the story. Oppenheimer won't take you to outer space like Interstellar or into dreams like Inception, but it will give you a close look at J. Robert Oppenheimer's life and the guilt he carried, while asking unanswerable questions.
