I watched Kantara: Chapter 1.
Kantara (2022) was a masterpiece โ it had everything: an innocent, carefree hero who unknowingly gets trapped in the games of the landlords in his village, betrayal, emotion, justiceโฆ everything was there. The transition of scenes from the ordinary to the mythical was simply amazing.
There was that deep cry for justice when his brother was killed โ and the haunting way his brotherโs soul seemed to cry for justice in his dreams. Then the hero finally realizes the truth, and in the last scene, he attains nirvana during the fight. His face transforms โ from frustration and confusion to complete peace. At that moment, he becomes something beyond this world, something divine that words canโt explain.Just was amazed by Rishab Shetty's acting .
The heroineโs character also beautifully portrayed the dilemma between her duty as a police officer and her loyalty to her land and people โ and the love between them felt true and convincing. I really loved that movie.
But this new oneโฆ from the very beginning, itโs all hype around the hero โ as if heโs born for greatness. His introduction is grand, everyone treating him as someone destined for big things. The repeated divine possession moments during fights felt similar to the first movie โ nothing truly new. The climax was good, but the hero never felt powerless at any point....the pain of him being helpless and powerless was lacked ...
