Beautiful, Inspiring and Empowering movie. I haven’t been to the movie Theater in 10 years. Being married in an abusive relationship, I felt like I was living in a box 10 years isolated from family, friends and fun things to do. I went to the movie theater alone. It made me cry especially the part where she says she didn’t want to become like her mother. I realized Lily was right. You have to break the cycle of DV before the cycle breaks you. Needless to say this movie’s empowering portrayal of domestic violence inspired me to complete my final paperwork for divorce. I was able to relate to
Lily’s character and in my case, it ends with us (my two dogs and 4 chickens).
