In five episodes we barely "know" the characters, and yet 20 years have passed. Meanwhile the characters have barely aged (someone who was around 10-12 in the first episode for example, looks MAYBE 15), making the timelines confusing. Meanwhile they are still driving cars with ancient batteries and tires... and GASOLINE.
I say that all to say this- the producers of this series on MGM didn't put much thought into it, and apparently felt we (the audience) wouldn't notice, or that we simply are used to trash TV. It's sad because it COULD have been good- another long running epic along the lines of TWD. Instead they don't develop characters and leave GAPING holes in the timeliness as well as in the story- something simply "happens" and next thing you know it's 10 years later with no development or resolution to what happened. They introduce new characters in a hope to make the audience sympathetic to them as protagonists or angry at them as antagonists, but never give us an opportunity to know enough to feel those things.
I feel stupider for having watched it. Shame on you!
