Yes! Tyler Perry’s movies do push the boundaries of reality sometimes, but the points he’s trying to make are well-taken. Without some of the extremes, some people don’t get it. This movie may begin with an extreme at the funeral, but I saw some things that were very valid for young women and men to observe. My mother always told me not to marry into a family when the parents don’t like me. This movie showed two families who could not bridge that gap. It showed the good, the bad and the ugly of relationships. It’s a good script to look at for entertainment, self-examination, and appropriate responses applied to real life.
