Absolutely love this movie and plan to purchase it after watching and rewatching scenes. My favorite is Clavius sitting with Jesus, under the stars, having a brief but profound conversation, showing God's omniscience. I experienced the Holy Spirit move through me during "Risen," and I can only liken it to what occurred within me while watching "The Passion of the Christ." Beautiful, moving, compelling. And not only completely possible, but probable that Roman soldiers were converted during Jesus' crucifixion. It is biblical, after all, that the centurion exclaimed at the foot of the cross: "Surely this man was the Son of God!"

The best--and only worthwhile-- scene in this movie was the last. Do yourself a favor and skip to that one. And wait for the movie to stream for free. So not worth $7, and, truly, a waste of my time. With all that has been written and known about Padre Pio, this piece of junk was a travesty. I'm very happy to hear of Shia's conversion to Catholicism, and maybe he did a good acting job, but there honestly wasn't enough content to even know this. I was disappointed that they included nothing on Pio's stigmata, but they were sure to include him dropping an F-bomb. Really? Nothing on his supernatural gifts including bilocation or the ability to read penitents' souls. Too much time was spent on the Italian political scene of the time, and I couldn't even understand some of the points trying to be made. Also, the shaking camera angles were dizzying and ridiculous. I'd give it a D.
