Not what I would usually read but it kept me interested until the end. Slow build, fantastic storyteller , I wouldn't even call patrick an author, he has such storyteller skills there are stories wrapped up in stories. Great method of using words as pictures. This is truely a read for lovers of books. You need some patience to fully grasp what is going on here, but it's worth it. Well done .

The author knows how to write, but the characters can be hard to connect with . The ending is a plot twist for sure, but not one that leaves you excited for more, it's an ending that makes you feel like ugh, glad it's over. To compare, " the silent patient " is a fantastic ending, and I think the author could have done some more with the plot twist. She ended everything , all your questions in the last 5-8 pages, and it seemed rushed for a 300+ page book. There were also scenerioa, many, that were very unrealistic which had you rolling your eyes .
