After waiting 8 years in excitement and anticipation for the next BF instalment in the 'modern warfare' series (so to speak), I am utterly frustrated and hugely disappointed with this lackluster excuse of a next-gen game! I think back to when COD 4 (MW1) released on PS3 and it wholly justified upgrading my PS2 console just to play it... however I feel let down that I purposefully upgraded to a PS5 just to delve into BF 2042. Without divulging too much and wasting 20 minutes to list the multitude of negatives over the handful of positives (that being mostly focused on the Portal game mode), it is clearly noted much of the community share similar opinions and experiences of the poor quality and mechanics of this new release. On the face of it the game appears to have huge potential but at its current state it is really really badly unfinished... For the BF fans trying to remain positive over the game, the best way to explain it is would you buy a new car in 2021 and expect to not return it if it had no air-con, electric windows, DAB radio, the steering was clunky, and had lumpy suspension....my guess is you wouldn't expect to keep it in the hope you would have to wait for it to get fixed!!!
