A Senior Citizen family friend (in her 80's) has been an avid viewer of the Young and the Restless. Almost a year ago, her husband passed away. I check on her frequently. As we chat, she will share episodes of the daytime show. When I was in college, I use to watch daytime shows on my day off from a full schedule. So that I would be able to chat with my Senior friend, I began watching again. The current story line invloving the character Sharon, who is clearly struggling with some mental health challenges is unbelievable. The character Sharon is seen episode after episode chatting with this Cameron character. The very fact that he is visible to the television audience wearing that "blood stained" shirt is so unsightly.
At what point, will the writers, bring this storyline to some reasonable end. Mental Health issues are serious. People need to see ways it can be resolved that do not involve subtle violence. My Senior Citizen friend looks forward to her shows but it is clear, the current shows are depressing. There has to be a way, to identify current problems that connect to real life without the direction this has been going.
