My only critique is that the real story is so deep that none of the morons on this site understand it. The key word for properly understanding this story is the word "purpose". It is not a spiritual film; but like all sci-fi, there is a spiritual quality.
If not spiritual, then an unmentioned scientific fail-safe must exist to ultimately save the ship and its passengers.
The ship is severely damaged. Why is the "fix-it"
man awakened. Over time, he need to focus on more than the fruitless task of repair to his sleep module. She was a writer; needed as a partner.

They were not able to access the ships critical areas. Along comes the facility manager with full access. Why? Do you really get the story?
