I give it a 4, I feel like it's a good update. I enjoyed the more toned down and serious Freddy. I think both the original and remake have thier place. I will say, some of the kills could have been more creative, which is why I gave it a 4. And while I like the serious tone of the film, Freddy could have been just a tad more theatrical.
