Lizzie Murphy

I know the film was considered a flop but I think it’s superior to the series. I adored the book and think Dex was portrayed as being narcissistic so much better in the film (he was too polite in the series). It’s partly a story of how Dex grows up and realises friendship and real love is what real life is and not fame and hangers on. I cannot warm to the new Emm in the series who comes across as quite sullen. Anne Hathaway captured her so much better and had a lighter touch.
