As a sci-fi enthusiast, I was intrigued by the concept of “Terminator” meets “Blade Runner”. However, I am very disappointed in the execution. The movie is thinly veiled propaganda at how terrible the United States Army is and the United States as a whole. While this idea could have included thoughtful commentary on the subject, it simply was not.
Back into the plot, the movie tells you one thing and doesn’t show it which takes the stakes out of all the actions. For instance there is supposed to be a large war going on in this world but there are no intelligent tactics going on and seems to have nothing stopping NOMAD from hovering over the war zone and blowing the ai to bits. There are many of these questions to be asked by the viewer that goes unanswered.
The movie came to an unsurprisingly bad and emotionless ending with visuals taken directly out of Star Wars and watching the Empire fall. One cannot write characters smarter than themselves and this group of writers were not smart.
The one this this movie has going for it is quality visuals and fairly good acting at times.
If I had paid for this movie, I would have wanted my money back.
