- Cat Mario is wack, Mario should've fought against Donkey Kong in his red and blue clothes like in the games. Cat Mario looks silly, out of place, and lame.
- Donkey Kong shouldn't have lost so easily to King Koopa (Bowser). Donkey Kong punched a small moon out of orbit in one of his games. Bowser has similar feats related to a supernova and a black hole and pulling islands but the fight should've been closer, they let down Donkey Kong. I wouldn't have minded Bowser winning but it should've been a long and epic fight. Also Donkey Kong has punched Bowser out of a game spot and made him flee in fear in a Mario Party game...so the fight could even have been a stalemate or a win for DK.
- Princess Peach's face is not the same as her Super Mario Sunshine counterpart
- The movie changed Princess Peach into a Samus Aran-like character for woke ultra-feminist reasons. Her game counterpart is usually a damsel in distress and it is only rarely when she becomes heroic and brave like in Super Mario Bros 2 and Super Princess Peach. The movie changed her character and ruined it. Her voice was changed too.
- They ruined Luigi. Yes Luigi is a bit of a coward in the games, but he is also a brave hero when he needs to be. The movie just turned Luigi into a full on useless coward which was wrong.
- In the movie, Donkey Kong is able to get a fire flower and shoot fire but this shouldn't have been allowed because he can't do that in the games. Only Mario and Luigi can use the fire flower in the games.
- Bowser was too clingy and was too much in love for Princess Peach in the movie which was not how his real character is. In the games, he is in love sometimes, but his motivation isn't just love...he has other deep schemes. Plus originally he stole Princess Peach in the NES game to stop her from using magic to save the Mushroom Kingdom...it had nothing to do with love.
- Ending the fight by giving Bowser a mini mushroom is lame...there could've been a more exciting ending.
