Schmaltzy and very saccharine yet it's satire is great. Hoffman commits to his role while Garcia and Gina Davis are game...Kevin J. Connor is brilliant as a camera man who views himself as filming art rather than news. The score is suitably cheesy with Auld Lang Syne opening and closing the film. A pure joy of a film which will bring out the hero in even the most cynical person.

Spectacular and action packed entry in the franchise let down by clunky exposition scenes, as if the audience needs to be spoon-fed the moral implications if said macguffin falls into the wrong hands. Additionally the rogue AI controlling destiny isn't a particularly new idea and owes the TV series Person of Interest in terms of the jumping off point. The actual conception is quite cinematic compared to that show which you would expect considering the budget. Still a well acted and crafted film and very entertaining.
