Barbie is one of the best crafted movies I've experienced. I have never seen a movie that was able to describe the experience of a women more then ever. Throughout the whole movie, I was shifting through all kinds of emotions, sadness, angry, happiness, greta did an amazing job incorporating everything together seamlessly. Honestly to everyone saying its a bad movie, its bc they have a fragile ego. Like looking at the reports I though the movie was going to be extremely feminist, but honestly, it was like a dip in the toes.
This movies explores so many topics at once, how little girls are taught to hate themselves, and give all the credit to men. How women are expected to help, but not to intrude, to care, but not to make men feel inadequate, to do everything but also don't make it seem like your the breadwinner or provider.
It explores mother daughter relationships, and epically those of a person of color, or immigrant. Mothers constantly scarifies themselves just so their children can achieve better.
Really watch it. It was so worth it, I have never rewatched a movie, but I love it so much that I going to see it again.
