I find this movie way too melodramatic, manipulative, and ableist. I have seen it before, and church groups often view it because of its religious message about the protagonist being "God's instrument." I didn't find the Christmas play scene to be the slightest bit funny. Groping is never okay and is behavior that should result in punishment! My biggest problem with this monstrosity is the portrayal that Simon must achieve some mighty act of heroism to be given basic respect as a human being. This mindset has a profoundly negative impact on people with disabilities in the real world. It doesn't matter if the disability is visible or invisible to others. We are fighting to survive in a world that doesn't care about our needs. I am not surprised this movie earned 44 percent on Rotten Tomatoes! I want my money back!

I will admit that Love, Victor was my first introduction to cast members like George Sear, Michael Camino, and Mason Gooding. I loved season 1 of this show! I appreciate any good LGBT themed Coming Of Age story. It is a show that both teenagers and adults who have lived through the experience of coming out in high school will appreciate! I look forward to seeing how these characters grow and mature in Season 2! I hope Victor's parents accept him, but we will have to wait and see!
