Becoming an adult is a weirdly sad process. We lose our interest in the things that’s we used to love the most at a time. For me reading a book as a habit is long lost..the only source of entertainment was then this series or movie watching. Sadly for last few months I even have started to lose my interest in this one as well. And then hearing to all the hype, started watching Farzi and the rest is history. I guess Farzi has set a new benchmark in making of Indian web series..reasons..Indian web series are highly inflicted with same type of linear story telling. For crime based series, it would be an accidental criminal in process, a sad police officer who is brilliant at work but worse at personal life, some sex scenes and some gun shots and that’s all. Farzi however has all of these (minus the sex scenes) but no unnecessary drama as well, a constant upgrading storyline with no lower moments. Also, big actors like Shahid Kapoor, Kay Kay Menon are finally choosing good scripts over the screen presence in movie theaters, that’s another laudable approach!
As people are praising shahid for his acting, let me take my moments to applaud Vijay Sethupathi’s comic timing, Kay Kay Menon’s feel free type acting while still being the villain, Bhuvon Arora’s screen presence as being the surprisingly well supportive cast and Amol Palekar’s innocence in every of the frame. A very well balanced mix of crime, drama, suspense, comic, good acting, story telling and good cast at the end. Farzi has ticked it up to all the categories, and has also ticked up of being one of my few favorites from Indian series as well.
