A truly silly game. The level of incompetence and lack of creativity is really disappointing. No storyline or direction. All the characters are irrelevant and annoying. 343 have tried to mix an FPS with an RPG under the Halo banner but the game is the worst of both worlds and bears no resemblance to proper Halo games whatsoever. It’s like the whole story and gameplay is a metaphor for 343’s butchering of the Halo series. No UNSC, no Covenant, no Cortana, no ONI, no Earth or Reach, just a bunch of random self-doubting and moaning characters complaining every time Master Chief attempts to get something done. What he’s trying to get done I never really understood anyway. Microsoft really need to give this game back to Bungie. Bungie should write off Halo 4+ as invalid and start afresh with their own version of events. I only bought this game because I’m off work ill. Back to playing Reach, the last real Halo game and still miles better than this trash. Oh, and what the hell is going on with the graphics. It’s not like it looks ‘old’, it’s just the lighting is seriously messed up. It felt like I was playing the game through sunglasses and couldn’t make out anything either in light or dark. When the opening cutscene starting playing I thought a cable or something had been half pulled out because it was so monochrome and ’misty’. But nope, it’s just the Halo Infinite graphics. Shambles.
