The main actress is great and kept the show going. But the plot doesn't really stand on its own.(spoiler alert) Why would Maya go such length to find out about Dark, the footage and all that if she knew who killed her husband from the start. Some would say, It was just to uncover Burkett's bad deeds, but if she had the documents and the witness then those deeds could have easily been exposed without her getting killed. (more spoiler alert) Really she didnt have to kill her husband to expose his crimes either. Even powerful people cannot make these things go away when the proofs are that solid.... More researching on the legal system would make the plot more plausible. Also, many other illogical actions from many characters, such as the detective, the sister and her colleague. But i am willing to overlook all these for entertainment purpose. Overall a good entertaining show and good try on diversity cast.

Pros: Amazing animations and soundtrack. Every frame is a work of art. Absolutely loved it. The voice actors did a super good job too. And a FULL Asian cast (or almost). Cons: as some out here say, the characters lack depth and consistency. Mizu seems to dip and come out of her ruthless killer phase to a something more human, but in the first season viewers really can't follow Mizu's story clearly. The most inconsistent character is Taigen, he was first portrayed as a mean and arrogant prick then as the potential love interest of the main character. The transition did not make sense and his personality changed so much for no seeming reason. Most evils lack depth as well, they kill they do bad things but no reason or complexity behind. Paradoxally, women in this story, also lack depth. They are the two extreme, cold calculating, ruthless or just plain sex toys to men. Their only weapon is sex and manipulating man. There are no shades of grey in between. And lgbtq+ characters? Everyone is straight in that show. How is that even possible. Overall very good serie, but not near Arcane or Cyberpunk edgerunner in term of story line.
