Took the book from the shop, just seeing the name Alex Michaelides, his debut book was so good. Like the same way as Silent patient, I read the book in a single sit. Now coming to the story, the plot begins with an off pace, slowly gaining the rhythm, and an unputdownable effect towards the end. Expect a twist at the end, but dont expect a work like Silent patient. And I personally felt that, there is no need to compare both books. Alex didn't forgot to present cameos, Theo faber, Ruth, Julian - the characters in Silent Patient had a very brief role in Maidens too. There is also mentioning of Alicia Berenson. In fact, the lead in Maiden, Mariana is the one who encourages Theo to apply for the job at Grove. 3.7/5 I would rate this book.
