Media showing a complete and working ecosystem is difficult to create, but scavengers reign pulls it off in strides. I find myself asking how did the survivors figure out how to do that with a plant, or how we're they able to even harvest that? But they have been there so long, it's just normal to crawl inside an alien's abdomen.
The best creative choice is showing the different levels of experience between the survivors. One group is working in tandem with the alien setting. Another is desperately clinging to human technology. Still another fills a creature's niche humanity should not belong to.
I am mesmerized with this show. I love the references to nausicaa and the valley of the wind, but scavengers reign moves the environmental dialog from can humans coexist with nature to should we? How do humans impact an ecosystem that evolved without a destructive and selfish force like humanity? Incredible.
