As an enormous fan of the rocksteady Arkham games I really wanted to like this. When my kids became old enough I shared my love of DC and Batman with them through those games. When the announcement trailer came along and revealed the premise I was willing to have faith in their vision, they had made 3 brilliant games before set in this universe. After the disastrous state of play reveal of the awfully bland gameplay I kept my preorder anyway hoping it would improve or the story at least would get me through. Boy was I wrong. Gone are the rocksteady of old. What we have now is a generic looter shooter with extremely repetetive gunplay and missions. Over and over. There isn't even a shred of the old Arkham formula left here. Even the bosses/heroes are just "shoot more bullets" until the health bar drops to 0. The story is an absolute slap in the face to any comic fan and especially to Arkham Batman fans, it's downright disrespectful. The awful gameplay is the cherry on top of a story resembling an enormous turd-filled cake, and for both aspects Rocksteady should be ashamed. I refuse to accept this is part of the Arkham universe and will never consider it such in my household. It won't make a difference to you rocksteady, but you've lost 1 huge fan here, and from just this experience you've destroyed any faith I have the DLC will be able to fix any of this. Such a shame.
