Netflix suggested that I might enjoy this show. So, I tuned in, not really expecting much. I was bowled over! “Call the Midwife” is superb! I cannot recommend it highly enough! The writing is phenomenal, and the show is perfectly cast! The focus on women’s issues, social mores, medical science, religious faith, and the bonds between family, colleagues, and friends all blend together seamlessly to depict life at that time in history so poignantly! Each character brings something unique to the show. I often find myself sobbing, laughing, and gasping several times during an episode— quite a roller coaster ride! Worth every minute! I binged the first nine seasons on Netflix. Now I am savoring weekly episodes of season (series) 10 Sunday nights on PBS. I am grateful to each person who makes “Call the Midwife” come to life! What a blessing!
