2 problems: inaccurate morals and missed opportunities.
Everything else I can get past, kids with good acting are hard to find nowadays, low quality animation is to be blamed on Netflix with their bad choices their doing like shutting down their animation industry, everything replaced is an attempt to making more it's own story which more people are demanding these days.
The morals they taught kept seeming so far off I was even rooting for the King in this one so you know something was wrong when you do that, telling the truth has always been a trap hidden in plain sight with not just punishment but putting people in danger which is why normal spies and superheroes always hide it, their ideas of resolving with those a friends now thing doesn't actually work that much, I mean take Mr. Electric from Sharkboy and Lavagirl he was all bad maybe even before Minus met him so it could never work like that for him, and the part with having to play fair is far off the only real issue about it is getting disqualified/banned and that never gets addressed in any media with that moral so it shouldn't apply at all.
There were so many missed opportunities and not just from originality. They could've had more interesting callbacks like they stole the Toymaker's old tech, at least all the time in the world had plenty of those. Backstories are underwritten and under-shown, even more so that it makes it harder to follow the plot. And why didn't we see more of this tech explained like with the gadgets and AIs.
