The crew that brought Life is Strange ditched the strange "hello, fellow children" type lingo in favor of trendy social justice issues for the last two games. Honestly, I did not mind Life is Strange 2 very much. I thought it was okay. This game is terrible.
In order to get the better ending, you need to cater to Tyler's every whim and wish, completely leaving the only main female character to be nothing more than a yes woman. Ultimately, this turns out as misogynistic as pretty much every other game that does this. Not as progressive as they think.
They fake out LGBT people by making you think being trans is important to the plot, when in reality it is absolutely not. Nothing has anything to do with Tyler being trans, really. This is something also commonly done to get LGBT people to purchase games we think will tell our stories, but absolutely drop the ball on doing anything other than preach common talking points you shouldn't get from video games but rather read about from real people.
The quality of graphics are decreasing as time goes on. I do not think I saw characters look at each other once this entire video game. Instead, they awkwardly dead stare past each other with crooked necks. With every jacket constantly freaking out or clipping through seats, this looks like someone made the characters in sims 2, put a different skin texture on and threw them in a game where the scenery is decent.
Still, same as all the others before, the dialogue is a real issue. I dont want to miss important stuff, but sometimes I stop caring because the conversations will go on forever. Once I realize it's pointless, I just move on. No one cares about that much world building.
Also, this feels like a rip off of the earlier games. It feels like they exchanged the trendy issue of racism against Mexicans for trans issues, aged up the characters, changed the wolves into goblins and viola! Brand new video game. The "power" is underwhelming with no real "laws." Apparently it is dependent on the quality of their own memory, but also can show them the definitive answer or things they don't remember at all? There's only three episodes, so I do not understand how there is absolutely no consistency overall about this.
I am glad I pirated it because no one should pay money for this. Any games released in the future will be ignored as well seeing how they decide to regress in every way possible.
