I just finished reading this book at 1:20am and I have to say this was an amazing read. I don't even quite have the words to explain what a unique story this was (based on my history of consumption) and am saddened that it hasn't been read more. I met the creator at a convention once and they signed the book "thank you for coming back" and I feel like that, unknowingly, is so poignant after having finished the book.
The book cultivated complex feelings, I can't begin to explain. Definitely not an easy read or for the light-hearted. I have a soft spot for old folk, so this was challenging at times. I loved the imagery, the use of language, the universe.
It's a lot different from my typical indulgent read but it felt like a very wild break that kept me turning the page. I just wanted to know what happened next. It tugged on many heart-strings and I loved how clearly so much thought had gone into it.
At times was I confused? Probably, but I didn't mind. It was refreshing albeit heavy.
Loved it!
