Below, I have my reasons why this movie is horrible and shouldn’t be watched. There are a couple spoilers so don’t read this review. I’d recommend at least reading the book or listening to it if you want to become part of the fandom. But I’d you are a book fan, here’s all the things they messed up. 1. EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER IS WRONG. Annabeth was portrayed as a girl who was super good at fighting while in the book, she is super nerdy. Percy was not brought to justice since he was like “I love all of this glory and everything about me being the son of Poseidon” No. that’s not how it’s supposed to be. Percy never wanted to be a hero. Poor Grover. Our lovable satyr. While in the book he loves nature, is so nice, kind of shy, and doesn’t stand up for himself, the movie Grover is just a plain ladies man who doesn’t even mention nature once. His goal was to get his searchers license in the book to look for Pan, the god of the wild, while in the book he just wanted his horns. WHERE IS CLARISSE!! You need her for the second movie anyways. They made Annabeth into Clarisse basically and left out everything about Annabeth that was important. Finally, THE AGES WERE WRONG!! The project mentions Percy turning 16 and the writers messed that up. Rick Riordan brought this to their attention and they ignored him. 2. The plot is sooooo wrong. It turned from “we need to find the Master Bolt before there is another World War between Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades” to “we need to find these pearls around the country to save my mom”. I don’t see the same plot here. They also added monsters and things that weren’t in the book and took out things that were important. For example, why add a scene about them fighting a hydra and forgetting the part where Percy learns how to breathe underwater.M 3. CLIMAX. WHERE IS THE CLIMAX. In the book, it turned out that Ares stole the Master Bolt and he fought Percy in the beach. That is the Climax of the book. I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THE CLIMAX OF THE MOVIE IS. They didn’t even mention Ares. They went straight to “It’s all Luke’s doing. Oh my god, Luke is evil” No. 4. Luke. Our favorite villain. He started out as a friend, a hero and then stabbed Percy in the back and nearly killed him. That was the book. In the movie, there was a fight scene with Luke and Percy that was unnecessary and was not good. Luke went straight from being not a really good person to the villain. He’s supposed to be nice and still nice when Percy gets back to Camp Half Blood. That is until they get a pack of Diet Coke and he nearly kills Percy with a scorpion. 5. They actually messed up mythology. Percy and Annabeth should have not really liked each other from the beginning since their parents were rivals. Also, why was Persephone in the Underworld? ITS SUMMER TIME NOT WINTER. The mythology is that Persephone is with Demeter in Olympus during Spring and Summer and that’s why it is nice. In the winter, Persephone is in the Underworld with Hades and that’s why Demeter is so upset. Therefore it turns cold. SHE SHOULDN'T BE IN THE UNDERWORLD DURING THE SUMMER! 6. The swearing. ITS SUPPOSED TO BE A KIDS BOOK. There doesn’t need to be all of the jokes with swear words in it all that stuff. 7. Rick Riordan warned them about everything that would go wrong. And he was right about everything. 8. JUST DONT WATCH THE MOVIE IT IS HORRIBLE AND THEY MESS EVERYTHING UP. IT IS A WASTE OF TIME. The actors did a great job so no hate on them. It was just a horrible script and story they were given.

Probably my favorite Disney movie. I think that this one applies to all the age 10ish+ girls who kinda feel like they are all on their own. The movie is basically talking about when the main character gets her first period. She was super scared at first and then learns how to live with it. But still the movie goes through all the things that a girl goes through in puberty such as liking boys, starting to get bo, mood swings, feeling like you don’t really fit in, etc. I’m 13 and my friends and I watched it together and we were all like huh, I wish I had this when I first got my period. Even though the movie is AMAZING, your younger kids probably shouldn’t watch it since it talks about things that you might not want your 8 year old kid hearing about. But if you have an older daughter or just want to watch a GREAT movie, I highly recommend to everyone!
