I truly wish I could give this a better score, I love Bethesda games, I always have, the worlds they build fill me with awe, they feel alive and vibrant and give me the freedom to truly immerse myself in a different world... or at least, they did.
Starfield falls short on all the things that made fallout 3 and New Vegas amazing and doesn't come close to the majesty of Skyrim.
There's over 1000 worlds, but most of them are dead and barren with long treks between discoverable locations. The people are bland and boring, there's a million and one loading screens, wanna fly to space? Loading screen. Wanna travel round a city? Several loading screens (you have to take the subway between areas). This isn't one cohesive world, it's a bunch of small instances areas.
I hope Bethesda learn from this and realize that it's more important to have the world feel alive, to have the player constantly finding new things do in a seamless and vibrant environment than it is to have the biggest map you can with great graphics, but no soul.
I'm disappointed, I was honestly looking forward to this, put time aside to throw at it, to be immersed and well, I've turned it off and I'm gonna be finding something else.
