Frankly, this is the most disappointing Fire Emblem game weโve had in a while. While it resembles traditional Fire Emblem games, all good elements developed in Awakening and Three Houses have been completely wiped out. The story line and characters are barely fleshed out, and it lacks what makes Fire Emblem such a wonderful series: replayability. I was disappointed when I heard there were no diverging paths, but it was fine and to be expected. I still wanted to play the game at that point. Honestly, once I learned there was no New Game+ or even desirable S supports or supports in general, I was very disheartened in my play through. Itโs considerably less fun to grind for all supports and unit classes when you have to start everything over to do so. Also, the โpost gameโ is terrible, mostly because it doesnโt exist. Yay, we can run around after the end of the story and endlessly grind on repeating maps!!!!! โฆ If I wanted to do that, I wouldโve picked up a hack and slash version from the franchise like Three Hopes. At least that has storyline and player engagement with its endless grinding. It doesnโt help that Alear is pretty immature compared to recent main characters in the franchise. It was refreshing, at first, considering how extreme and 2D many of the other charactersโ personalities are, but it quickly grew annoying to go through. If I had known how unsatisfying this game was going to be, I certainly wouldnโt have wasted $60 on it.
