This movie examines a part of the Dracula story that is usually skipped over in most film productions, namely the count's voyage to England. It becomes a nautical version of the old Monster In The Haunted House trope, with the Demeter, a sailing ship that clearly has seen better days, taking the place of the haunted house. Imagine a late Victorian version of Alien. Both acting and direction first rate.
