There are many bad reviews on this movie. But , it is not actually a bad movie. Not bad at all. For one ,the character Zhang Qilin is portrayed as more humane rather than a mythical all- powerful other worldly enigma ; he actually looks like someone who had gone through rigorous hellish training and faced hardships to be as strong as he is rather than looking as fair & flawless as a swimsuit model which this character is often portrayed as. The fighting scenes performed by the Actor playing Qilin seemed more real than any other Grave Robbers chronicles( Daomu biji) adaptaion. The relationship between Wu Xie and Zhang Qilin develops naturally and it's actually heart-warming as it is supposed to be. The main actors acted well and had a good chemistry. The only major drawback of this movie was the last part. Bad CGI. It physically pained my eyes to watch that. But, that only lasts for like 20 mins. So, I bore through it.
Also, watch this and any Chinese movie in general with the original audio and English Subtitles. Dubbing robs the movie of it's original essence and feel.
