Maharaja (2024) Movie Review
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐️⭐½
One Word Review: Terrific
Vijay Sethupathi consistently delivers masterclass performances, never disappointing the audience. This is the best Tamil film I've seen in a long time, comparable to the suspense and twists of Kahani. Sethupathi's performance is terrific, especially during the interval bang and the disturbing climax. His acting in Vikram Vedha with R Madhavan was unforgettable, and this film further solidifies his status as a top actor. Anurag Kashyap's performance, particularly in the climax, is god-level. The movie's sensitive topic and violent scenes were disturbing but enhanced the powerful story, BGM, screenplay, and comedy. Makkal Selvan is a pride of South Indian cinema, and Anurag should continue doing villain roles in South movies. Nithilan's storytelling and Ajaneesh's support were exceptional. Singampuli's performance also stood out. This film, a suspense thriller, surpasses Ratsasan and now ranks in my top five.
