John Hall

Hugely enjoyable. Great cast of characters and the way they weave in real life events of the Sixties into the narrative is really cool. Poking fun at French attitudes and mores of the time but in a funny and subtle way. The observations on the cold war and France's colonial policies and the decline of its influence in Africa are never preachy but certainly hit home.
