There are so many topics creatively touched on in this film. Mother and daughter relationships, healthy marriages, sibling interactions, office politics, keeping secrets, friendships, selfishness, casual dating, fear, and self discovery to name a few.
The simplicity of the script was welcomed. It gave a realism to the movie that allowed for the actors to express a thoughtfulness that is missed sometimes when portraying black characters.
Certain aspects of the cinematography brought Spike Lee to mind, and the soundtrack was nothing less than music Gold. It's worth seeing.
