Stunning in every way. The Strokes seem to return to some similar themes in their music that we all have been waiting in anticipation for. In the past seven years since their last full length LP, Julian Casablancas has explored a more experimental side of music with The Voidz. With their sixth LP, The New Abnormal, upbeat, shimmery and bright musical tones are apparent and easy to take in. This really is the perfect summer album. It's catchy, poppy, and everything we have come to love about The Strokes. Casablancas has never sounded better vocally on a Strokes album in my opinion, and the classic fretwork from Albert Hammond Jr. shines through in the mix. The music itself is carefree, cool and tight. Props to Rick Rubin for the production as well. Great album. Drums please, Fab.
