Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I honestly can't understand the low ratings from people. I couldn't help but smile through most of the movie and many moments warmed my heart. It did remind me of How to Train Your Dragon but it was it's own twist. Regardless of the similarities, the story line and plot work. That's why HTTYD got 3 movies and a series. I like this twist with sea monsters, it opens children's fantasy to more incredible art and imagination that this movie held. The whole "propaganda" thing is a total miss. I didn't feel like they were pushing some left wing narrative. I think they chose a wonderful little girl to bridge the gap between monster and man, regardless of skin tone. Maise was strong and fierce which fit this story line well. She was smart and witty and quite funny. I hate that politics have ruined people's ability to just watch a good movie and admit it was good. I'm a sucker for these kinds of movies so I may be biased but this movie was definitely worth the watch and has easily made its way to the top of my favorite movies. Absolutely heartwarming.
