What is a movie without story called? I would call it as just a video. A video two hours long showing some village happenings and a funeral. It's hard to gulp that this movie and Kammattipadam is written by the same writer. If I could recollect some of what I can remember something (since nothing memorable) from what I saw yesterday night. There is some romance, some village problems sorted out by our on-leave Army Captain and some Biriyani scenes because the story is based over Kozhikode and therefore.. All along the film Tovino has two expressions to portray, a normal face and a smiling one. Samyuktha's acting looks immature implying that she has no development from her first movie.

* Plot A bull which escapes from a butcher shop is creating chaos across a village which primarily depends upon agriculture for living. The village men are now geared up to catch the bull which is causing damage to their crops and property. Their efforts to capture the bull is the skeleton of this movie. More the bull runs, more it exposes the animal inside every one running after it. In the end it's declared that deep inside, we are all essentially those cavemen we used to be. * For whom ? This movie is not for a viewer who requires a dramatic or 'mass' experience. But in the other hand for a critical viewer this one is a treat, since the narrative is open for a read and re-read. * Production All the departments of has contributed enough that this one is a technical fine blend keeping a world-class cinema standard.

A really bad script played by some of the finest actors of Malayalam like Mammooty, Ashokan, Manoj K Jayan, Mukhesh etc. Filling of these actors has really reduced the level of explosion this film could've resulted in. There are quiet few laughs like Actor Devan's intoxicated dancing and Ashokan's expressions but at the same time there's a lot of rotten comic pieces like Fisherman riding a Duke Bike played by Dharmajan Bolgatty. Reaching the end, Director tries to bring in a topic of, exploitation of women protection laws against men but this attempt also fails. So in my opinion this is a poorly Directed movie with really bad script.

" Up close and full of Mammootty " Going straight forward : This is a very fantastic movie. Best part : No VFX or anything done to smooth-en or enhance the 68-year old Mammooty's face. Which I think worth mentioning since recent movies all shown Mammooty's face like that of a doll, which indirectly results in audience loosing a connect with the characters he plays. But still this 68 year old man looks like a 50-year old. Story overview : A Police man (Mammooty) is heading a group of young Policemen who belongs to the Kerala Armed Police Battalion. The group is posted for election duty on some severely Maoist affected area of Chattisgarh. These Policemen should guard an election booth and also deal with Maoist threats, with almost no prior experience of Armed combat and also no sufficient arms. But now you might be expecting Mammooty hanging onto roofs and trees, or doing parkour stunts to defeat the Maoists. No that's not how the movie is.

This movie is a miscarriage. The movie tries to convey the horrible situation of a pregnant woman who was kidnapped and is under three men who are ready to do any harm on her. But sadly this miserable situation of her is not conveyed to the audience, thanks to average acting by Samyuktha Menon and other bad guys, a loose script and mis'direction'. If you really believe stabbing someone on his tummy with Reynolds pen would kill him instantly. Then this film is for you.
