As a hard core fan of the novel and having read it almost 5+ times in its entirety, undoubtedly mani rathnam sir set a high expectation for me on PS1 with the teaser, trailer and star cast. No negatives on the genuine efforts put forth by the entire crew, but somehow I ended up getting back home deeply saddened by the plot’s slow movement, unconnected flow in some places, poor humour scenes, disconnected bgm and few scenes that are irrelevant and could have been edited to fit in more details. As someone mentioned, converting a 2000+ pages worth of a story into a 2.5 hr movie is not an easy task and compromises have to be made to fit the plot into a movie length. On 2nd thoughts now, PS will do good as a series than a movie and that would be a treat to watch for die hard PS novel fans like me.
